I wish HTC Would make a Vive Pro 3 with Lighthouse tracking. Use all the technology, new optics, a decent microphone solution for once (more similar to the Valve Index or HP Reverb G2). Right now for lighthouse tracking, only the Bigscreen Beyond and Pimax Crystal Lite seem like decent replacements for the Valve Index, and each has downsides that are hard to ignore (neither have a good integrated audio solution, Pimax has a history of bad and unstable software, and Bigscreen has a reduced FOV of 100 Degrees instead of the 110 Degrees of most VR headsets).

I never tried the Focus 3, but I'm thrilled to see HTC taking a step in the right direction with Displayport. Like many others, I'm skeptical that the price will make this new headset a reasonable choice for most folks, but I'm still curious

As a long time owner of every oculus/meta headset, I still to this day use my HTC vive more often than my quest 3. Could be the OLED panels, the comfort, uncompressed pcvr, or the lack of having to put up with meta, idk

It's sad they went so business and enterprise oriented. I really think they had something going for them, being 1st place in the valve hardware survey for steamvr. Ig that's just the way the cookie crumbles ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

Always hopeful to see more eye tracking on the market in hopes it inspires more support on the application side
It feels like eye tracking is one of the biggest examples of the chicken-or-the-egg problems in VR so little by little more hardware support will hopefully move it forward

Yes, what main things I want to know is how good are the optics, the sweet spot any good (how does it compare to the quest 3 which is very good), and is this another 1000 dollar headset like the current VIVE headset. Does it connect direct to the GPX card display port - which would be a plus). Does it work without base stations - which I always have inside out tracking????

It has to be very good to beat my Quest 3 headset. Time shall Tell with future reviews and more specification details.

The last vive headset i was considering was the vive pro eye back in 2022. Then they discontinued it. 😅 The day i went to buy it was the day it wasnt showing up on their web store 😂

We need micro oled eye tracking pancake lenses. LCD and fresnel is insane for a new headset.

I also hope that it will have that usb-c displayport alt mode, brad also said the quest pro will have it and it didn't.. so.. it's only a leak\rumor, we will know soon enough if true or not. fingers crossed!
