Hi! I use my kayak in deep water or shallow bodies of water depending on the day (where I hand paddle only and the foot pedals and a motor cannot be used) so I would want to take the Bixpy motor off. I was wondering how effective this rudder is at turning/maintaining course WITHOUT the motor on it? Or should I expect to take off the entire rudder and put my Hobie rudder back on? Thanks in advance for your reply.

You should recommend securing the battery to make sure it doesn't slide side to side. When you shift your weight to one side, it could cause the battery to slide and potentially flip the kayak.

How does the twist n’ stow work with the added weight of the motor?

Maybe a silly question but do you have to remove the motor after every use?
