Johannes Eckerstrom is one of the best singer live perfomer, the role he play with the make up and the costume is perfect. I recommand to react to Smells Like a Freakshow from the same live and Colossus form their brand new album.

I've seen them live a few times. Great live band. Frontman Johannes is the next in line after Alice Cooper and Marilyn Manson. First time I saw them was at a festival in the Netherlands. His first words to the crowd were " We are Avatar and we've come to steal the show." They did too!

Nice that you two tried Avatar - this band never disappoints. They played many styles of metal with every album - from feathers and flesh (art book, a thorough story with an extra book), black waltz + hail the Apocalypse with darker songs, Avatar Country with fun songs and their newest hunter gatherer with heavy and emotional songs.
I would recommend Puppet Show (fun song) live at Po'land Rock, because the singer (Johannes) does something new for the show ^^
One of their all-go songs they perform is paint me red and their most epic song is called let it burn, where the vocalist hits the high notes.
Every band member is very specialised with their Instruments - the drummer (John), the guitarists (Tim + Johan alias Kungen + Hendrick with guitar and sometimes 2nd vocals) and of course their vocalist (Johannes), who can hit low and high notes with clean voice and scream and growl heavy - their windmills are most epic as well^^

Avatar is an absolute party to go to. The atmosphere in the room is so good. Saw them twice and I can guarantee those weren't the last 2 times!

I was lucky enough to see Avatar live last year in a smaller venue. Small venue is key. If you love their music and their persona, wait until you see the experience you get when you go to one of their headlining shows!!! So good, so creepy, so quirky (creepy circus tent, carnival games, and up carnival tunes as you wait for thr act to start hahaha) without a doubt the most memorable show I've been to in YEARS. Also, pretty B.A. way to start off thr show.... guitarist rose from under the stage sitting on a throne dressed as a king Frick'n EPIC
P.s. I was there with my bro to also see thr opening act "Dance with the Dead", I was lucky enough to find both band members at thr back of the audience when Avatar was playing so I got a picture with both of them.... i played the "selfless card" and kept my flash off so I wouldn't draw unwanted attention to them, picture was barely viewable lol.

What's crazy is the band was already 14 years old by the time this was filmed, and now we're nearly another ten years since removed from it and they're finally starting to get their flowers! Number one on the billboard, about friggin time!
