The speed and the scale and Quality of the infrastructure that this government is doing is absolutely AMAZING. Regardless of which political you vote to one have to appreciate this amazing work. Hope all our political leaders learn and compete in this space. Also very heartening to see the PM and CM interact cordially even they are at each others throat when it comes to politics

Compared to the new 1:
Bengaluru T2, this looks tacky. Guess, this is the difference between a private airport and a government one.

Please hire security staffs who speak Tamil or English in the airport premises, everyone there in Chennai Airport are North Indians who can't even speak basic English, in the International terminal! What a joke!

Not impressed at all, a terminal of this stature should have been renovated back in the mid 2000's. The decor could have been executed in a much better way using sculptures, eye catching Tanjore paintings which should have been placed within a separate art section giving the impression of mini art museum within the terminal by the departure concourse, rather than piling it all up at the entrance all the way till the immigration counters though the idea was good it could have been minimal and simple if it were to be placed where they have done. The planning and execution is shoddy and definitely nowhere near to par with IGI T1 & T3, CSIA T2 and BLR T2 and I can guarantee the duty free will be non existent as always with useless handicraft shops, depressing looking stores like Shilpi or RMKV, artificial jewelry shops which isn't a draw to travellers whatsoever and has no business being in airport at all, unless if you want to open the dull parts of Spencers Plaza within the terminal, then go right ahead. Although we do deserve Duty Free shops similar to the ones we see at other airports around the globe. i'm also fairly confident that neither will there be any food courts for int'l travellers or at best a worthless cookie man or a third rate doughnut shop at the bare minimum like the one they have at the corner of t4 next to the smoking section. First/Business lounge might be a bright spot in this terminal but we''ll need to see as to how it might be executed. The mosaic tiles look straight from the 90's which is a thing of the past and never radiates a clean and posh feel to any type of building unless if maintained properly and correctly. AAI why can you not use marble or at the bare minimum use elegant carpet similar to that of T3 or Changi? Is it seriously that difficult? Are you cheap? Or is it that hard to procure such materials? As an aviation enthusiast and frequent traveller to various airports this is totally dreadful if you're competing with premium airports and trying to make TN a gateway to southern India. Furthermore, to digest the fact that a terminal of this size which has been under the works for well over a decade shows the incompetence of AAI as well as the state gov. A similar situation happened during the construction of Brandenburg airport in Berlin which began construction in 06 and was scheduled to open in 2011 but due to poor planning, management, corruption and other factors took well over a decade for it to be opened in 2021 and is now one of the most aesthetically pleasing terminals I have ever seen. AAI either use Brandenburg as a case study to tackle you're incompetence or better yet kindly do us all a favor and quit being in the airport business once and for all if you're going to be so casual about it. Hand over the phase 2 project and the proposed Parandur Airport project over to GVK or GMR who understand travellers needs, international standards, hygiene and what an airport is all about and should be. So far this is just pathetic, just by seeing the videos and photos online. The only thing positive about this terminal that I really admire is a much better baggage collection area and the incorporation of sky lights that changes the color to gold. People of TN, Indian Avgeeks and transit international passengers to Chennai connecting to the far east deserve better than this so called sorry a$$ of a terminal.
