A few years back I was a manager at a fine dining restaurant in Los Angeles that catered to a VIP crowd. One night a small group was coming in for a business dinner in one of the private rooms in the back. Dolly was the first to arrive. She had a driver and security who stayed in the lounge. I escorted her back and offered her a beverage while she waited. She asked for water. I came back with a small bottle of Evian and a wine glass with a slice of lemon. She said, and I kid you not, "Oh sweetheart, thank you so much, but I don't need the fancy stuff. I'm used to a jelly jar filled from the tap" She was the most real, genuine, appreciative, kind-hearted, funny, and an all-around likeable person. I dealt with hundreds of Hollywood A-listers while working there and nobody ever came close to as lovely a person as her. Period

"I'm not offended by all the dumb blonde jokes because I know I'm not dumb... and I also know that I'm not blonde."

I am a flight attendant and I have had the honor to serve her several times my very first time was from Toronto to Detroit and a few years later we went from Memphis to Nashville and as soon as she boarded she said “I have seen you before” and I told her when and she said “you are from the islands?” and I said yes I am from Puerto Rico and then she said you still cute as a button and of course I acted like a teenager…I just LOVE her🥰🥰🇵🇷🌈….she is truly a genuine down to earth humble woman…🥰🥰🥰🇵🇷🌈

I believe Dolly Parton is what happens if an unusually gifted person is raised by their family with unusually high amounts of confidence, realness and _love._

She flew through Cleveland when I was working for a major airline. My coworker asked her if she would call his answering machine and leave a message, so he could use it has the message others would hear when they called his home. She did it! She said some thing like, “ Hi, this is Dolly. Dan can’t come to the phone right now, because we’re out of having SOOOME fun. Just leave your name and number and he’ll get back to you as soon as he can.” 😁
I also asked for an autograph for my husband, whose name is Carl. She said, “why, honey, my husbands name is Carl too.” ♥️
I adore her, as do so many.

this woman... you can't help but smile. I don't think there's a more genuine, likeable celebrity out there, from anywhere.

I've never been a fan of country music, but I've always been a fan of her. She's just always come off as real, down to earth and so sweet.

Dolly is, indeed, a jewel. People, this interview is from 2005. She was 59 at the time of the interview.

She got that old school southern charm, so polite and humble even though she is a superstar that hasn't gone to her head, it's so refreshing to see. Just hearing hearing voice and accent makes you all warm inside, such a lovely Lady.

I don’t think this magnificent woman has an evil bone in her body. Every interview or appearance she’s always so sweet and genuine. She’s definitely a national treasure❤

I just love how Conan doesn't go to the classic "dolly, don't you think you need to tone it down." He immediately just compliments how gorgeous she looks and appreciates the effort she puts into the look. Love him and Love her

America’s sweetheart. Charming, comical, brainy, talented, benevolent. Such a wonderful person all-around. Reminds me of my beloved late grandmother, who was a huge Dolly fan. 🥰

All ive ever heard is how she's such a wonderful person, like truly truly a gem of a woman. She' has such a story and testament to her life and upbringing. So humble even after obtaining so much. And she never strayed from being herself.
