It's a new era for the Man of Steel! Comic book superstar Brian Michael Bendis is taking the reins of Superman's two ongoing series. Look for his Metropolis debut this July in both Superman #1 and Action Comics #1001.

It was nice having superman and action back in my pull list for 50 issues straight. Thank you Jurgens, Gleason and Tomasi. Bendis is the reason they are no longer on my pull list.

In this run Bendis managed to ruin an awesome marriage, Jon, his relation with the Titans and Sups characterization gained during Rebirth. Also I had to read Flash exclaiming out loud "Caca poopoo" in a serious context.

Not bad for just six issues! Call me again when he's gone, thank you.

As a Marvel & DC fan, "Man Of Steel" is one of my favorite films of all time!

I mean the music is all hype and energetic...too bad the reaction to his Man of Steel miniseries was so lackluster or downright dismissed by so many current fans. Most people I've spoken with in person couldn't even finish the miniseries, some didn't bother reading it, and a few got through it but don't have much good to say about it. I have had a few civil discussions with others on YouTube and in GoodReads where there are some people with good things to say about it...I don't think any of them were reading the series cancelled for this one to be made. At best it looks like maybe trading the previous readers for the new readers coming over from Marvel with Bendis. Maybe that's a good business strategy. I'm not sure.

after reading with vomit readiness the miniseries "man of steel" I see that DC is inviting people to see a possible big failure on the character. Bring Peter Tomasi and jurgens back.

Why DC? Why? Everyone was loving Peter Tomasi and Dan Jurgens runs in Superman and Action Comics and you just git rid of them in favour of Bendis? The things everyone was enjoying about the books was Superman and his family, his son. It added something new and mixed it in with classic storytelling for the character. What's the first thing Bendis does? Gets rid of Lois and Jon. Well done DC. I gave him a chance, I really did. I so wanted to like Man of Steel but the book was clearly just an excuse to get rid of Jon and Lois so Bendis can create his own shitty cast of characters for his Superman books. Well looks like I won't be reading anymore Superman comics for a while. BENDIS IS HERE.

I loved Tomasi and Gleason so I’m a bit confused to see they’re doing a relaunch (I preferred the pop/cartoon style used before compared to the new Man of Steel which felt a lot grittier). For me I read Superman more so than Action Comics; I loved to see how Clark dealt with the more emotional stuff and how he dealt with his family. I hope Bendis still does Big Blue justice, anyway!

Wanted a better ending to the fight between him an Superman. Putting him into Phantom Zone never seen that before. When the fight was in space an off Earth I was like this is going to be a showdown. Nope this was weak. They need to explain an show how powerful he is in his back story. The way he handle Superman without proper scaling would be nice. Think Prime or Doomsday we know why they could beat him down.
