you heard that right, we are doing a DEEP dive into my very favorite and most convincing taylor swift conspiracy theory: Karma, the lost taylor swift album. now if you have not heard of this theory, over the years there have been many easter eggs and speculations that taylor created and scrapped an entire album that was slated to release in fall of 2016.

with all the twitter drama and cancelling, taylor decided to hide from the public for a whole year. since then, many swifties have discovered really convincing evidence that there was a missing era between 1989 and reputation, called karma.

in this video, i am going to be going through the whole timeline from 2016 until present day to share with you guys everything we know about karma. let me know if i should do more videos about taylor swift theories, this video was SO fun to make :)

I don't care if it ends up being this lost album or a new one, I need a Taylor Swift rock era after those rock versions of Never Ever Getting Back Together and I Knew You Were Trouble during the 1989 tour. It would be amazing.

not quiet sure if this is another proof for the karma theory but: In her Lover music video you can see that the house has eight rooms in different colors, which match the theme color of each of her albums. In 2019 she had only seven albums but there are eight rooms and I think the orange room stands for Karma which hasn't been released yet.

And now in the Midnights album Karma is the 11th track wich maybe means Karma will be her 11th studio album. Wow if that's true I can't waittt

I would really like it if she released Karma. She would have more fans now that would appreciate and understand the album if she did release it than she had in 2016. This has definitely made me believe the Karma theory more

‘Karma’ was also capitalised in the Vogue interview, with the subtitles. They fixed it a year later apparently, but for a year it randomly said “that Karma is real”, which is an odd ‘typo’ to make. Definitely intentional.

Here’s my opinion:
I think she will announce that her reputation era was initially planned to be “karma” and still had tracks like look what you made me do and this is why we can’t have nice things, but all the other tracks were forced to be put into the vault and re direct the album to “reputation” since she was in need for a come back from public and press. So having “karma” would not make her look good and adding songs about Joe would keep her on brand.
Also gonna include another theory onto why karma will be released as reputations’ Taylor’s version: in the man music video, it’s sprayed as orange and then black. It was initially orange but changed to black for reputation.

In "So It Goes" she says "Gold cage hostage to my feelings" just like the scene in lwymmd. Also, after 1989, it would only make sense if it was a 90s inspired album, in 90s rock was pretty popular and she her bleached hair is such a 90s rock style. And her outfits and stuff it's definitely a rock album 🧡

Karma was written in both black and orange in The Man music video. Reputation was painted onto an airplane.
Black/orange + airplane
Airplanes contain a black box whose actual colour is orange. A black box is essentially a flight recorder... like an album containing records. It often says "do not open" on black boxes like how the album was never released to the public. I think this is why she used the airplane analogy and the black/orange colors.
The wing being cut off could mean the plane crashed (the era was scrapped) and we could potentially recover the orange black box at some point and hear the recordings/songs. Given how Karma was written twice with 1989, it probably will be part of the 1989 re-release.
(Edit: Now I think it's more likely it's song will be part of Reputation TV's vault tracks)

I remember first hearing the Airplane part of the Karma theory and just feeling everything click into place. That Taylor on the Airplane was BOTHERING me for years. When the music video first released, I just figured that we'd see her wear that outfit in a Rep music video, as some foreshadowing, but we never got anything so it was haunting me for years. At this point, if it's not an Easter Egg to Karma, I have no clue what it's supposed to be.

I think scrapping Karma was mostly Taylor's idea. Yes there definitely was some press from label too, that ''you have horrible reputation now, everybody hates you, so you can't release an album right now, because maybe it'd flop and we won't get any money'' But as we saw in Miss Americana how she said how bad her mental health was at the time and she needed to completely change her state of mind. So i think it was more Taylor's idea to scrap that album.

In the eras tour (which I sadly can't go to 😔), she always ends the tour with her song Karma. And there's an orange door coming down.
Like oop.
Also in the somg Karma theres a line that goes something like Karma is gonna pop up unannounced 🫢 also theres another line that saids "its coming back around" which could mean Karma is gonna come back 🤷‍♀️

she was also dressing up as kind of 90s grunge in bleachella era, so then it would make sense the "i come back stronger than a 90s trend" looking right at the camera to be an easter egg

I've always believed there was lost music between 1989 and reputation because she's dated Calvin Harris for a year, and I find it hard to believe there would be no music about him at all. Like, she wrote a beautiful song like Enchanted about someone she briefly met, but she wouldn't write a song about a man she dated for a year? I also would love for Taylor to do a pop-punk album, so if Karma ever comes out, I hope it's in that genre. I've also always thought that the Taylor on the wing of the plane was the aesthetic we would have had if she hadn't gone through all her hardships in 2016- all dressed in florals and quite soft, not edgy. (And we kinda got it with Lover)

Recently in her NYU speech she mentioned how she’s gone from country to pop to alternative to folk. I can’t imagine she’s referring to reputation as that album is sort of electric pop. When I heard that in her speech I thought she must’ve been referencing her karma era. She definitely has some alternative rock music we haven’t heard yet!

Theory: Taylor may never release Karma (sad) but a lot of those songs would probably be vault tracks on Rep (TV) since they kinda have the same vibe, but I really want Karma to have its moment (the long-awaited TS10). Taylor never wears orange so that'd be so interesting but yea that's what I think.
