I graduated from high school in 1979. In my teens I grew up listening to great music that has stayed with me all my life. Styx, with Dennis DeYoung on vocals, was and remains one of my all time favorites. But it was 1979, prom night I will always remember. That night I drove a gorgeous Camaro Z-28 to the prom with my date. The T-tops were off, the weather was perfect that night in Providence, Rhode Island and Paradise Theater was playing on the stereo. My date and I were singing along and didn't have a care in the world at that moment. Peaceful, life was perfect for a moment, and that moment is forever etched in my mind, thanks to Dennis DeYoung and one of the greatest American rock bands/vocalists ever!

Styx was one of the greatest bands in the 80's. Dennis DeYoung was the voice of Styx. I cant believe he still sounds the same to this day, Amazing!!!

How the hell cam anyone put thumbs down. He’s in his seventies and can blow like the wind. Wow that’s a real singer songwriter. Not only did he sing like a bird and sound just like 1981. But did you hear that piano. My goodness what talent. I always liked Styx. But this man made that group. I wish I could hear him sing On Desert Moon. Loved it. Words cannot describe the home performance of “Best of Times” this is one of the best songs ever written and stands up and makes so much sense today just as much as it did in 1981 & 1982. Who would have ever know fast forward “Best of Times” is reality “NOW” in 2020!

I closed my eyes and I was back in time, 42 years ago...back to 1978 when I first heard Dennis's amazing voice in person. Everyone in the audience was completely mesmerized by the vocals and beautiful tones eminating from the stage. Although so much has changed in this world, the voice I hear today is the same as the one I heard so many years ago.
