Interesting. I noticed things changing, back in the late 80s, early 90s, when I was Methodist. They used to support the March for Life. Then, in 1990, I asked our minister for permission to put a reminder in the Sunday bulletin, that we would meet at St. Timothy Catholic Church. He wouldn't allow it! I found out that the opposition, were meeting in DC, at the United Methodist headquarters, for their "prayer breakfast FOR abortion", if you can imagine that! Our 10 year old was already pulling me toward Catholicism, and something miraculous happened in August. I entered RCIA in 1991, and became Catholic.

I'll say that the first problem in the evangelical Church its not sorros, its the lack of holy spirit, the lack of respect for God, it has also become weak and laid back. Letting Satan and the world infiltrate them through music, through attire, through mundane concepts, and a teaching of weak psychology. Church is suppose to be a place where humanity meets with God first then their fellow brother and sister but has become backwards. However this being said there's many fake churches out their and many come out on TV. A pastor is a calling from God but many just call themselves then they buy a building and name themselves pastor. Many just go through some emotions and go through the motions but do not have a true encounter with the King of kings

This happened at my local Catholic Church. They took the parable of the unforgiving tax collector and made it into how you’d burn in hell if you didn’t abolish cops and let all convicts go free. When I complained to the Deacon, who turned out to be supportive of this radical view, the monsierner went on a Lord Farquaad style rant of how he spoke for God… completely unhinged smh

I'm so glad to see some defense of Gavin Ortlund in the comments. He was misquoted and misrepresented. Basham may be correct about the other people she writes about, but she got at least one person wrong.
Just shows that it's important to do your own research and find things out for yourself, rather than just taking someone else's word for everything (even if you share a lot of stances and beliefs).

Gavin Ortlund has been really misrepresented by this woman. Please actually hear Dr. Ortlund out, it hurts seeing a brother in Christ slandered. Especially a brother who's knowledge on theology and the church brought me closer to Christ
