Lone Rider Headlight Guard

OK I know this is expensive...but hey you only buy one and this looks so amazing. However you might not say that when you start to fit it!
I have the 1250GS with riding lights. These riding lights use the 8mm formed hex angular 'hole' in the frame that the Lone Rider bracket uses. I took off the side panels and beak to get to this. However in the end I use the 8mm nut in the correct position over the 6mm light bolt and the original 6mm nut clamps the bracket perfectly. Lone Rider do not mention this but you will be able to work it out as I did.
When it comes to the GSA then the riding lights are mounted on the engine bars so this is much easier. You can fix the bracket without removing any side panels. The right hand side is much harder than the left but it will fit.
If you want both units of the guard to fold dow, makes sense, then you need to remove the bottom mushroom and we replace with a stainless steel bolt and rubber grommet that is with the kit, well that is the method that worked for us? Use silicone grease on the mushrooms to make it much easier. Have fun.

Any German Policeman would get a chubby on in anticipation of being able to tell you how many ways this is "verboten"...
😂😂😢

Just a heads-up, if you damage or lose the yellow x part, LoneRider won’t sell it separately. This happened to me so I’ve now removed the whole thing. What a scam!...😡

On The 1250 GS 2021 that hexagonal bolt is irrelevant cause the Adaptive headlights extension "Plastic" Inserts go there and it is a Nightmare to get that headlight out without breaking those Nibs

I don't understand how you attach the bottom bolt where you glued that nut into?

What a GREAT video! I just installed mine and was scratching my head at first. Saw your video with the glue idea and the details on where specifically the bottom bracket mounted to and I had mine installed in 5 minutes!!! Thank you so much for the video!!👍👍

Hi Norm. I just watched you tube vid of teapot 1 fit one on his 1200 GS . He said it was simple. It looks the same but I guess it Must be much harder on the 1250?

I just received mine. The nuts are now welded into the frame. For some reason, they also sent the nuts for the older revision like you have. Having the nuts welded makes this process of installing go so much easier.

After watching a couple of other videos, I see what happened. You leave the standoffs on the plexiglass. The plexiglass actually fits correctly in the gromets if you remove it from the hinged screen first. That was the part I missed. The standoffs on mine were installed incorrectly from Lonerider but after I switched them to the correct locations I was easily able to snap the plexiglass in place and then close the screen. I did pick up some BLAST brand Silicon Sprays to spray in the gromet holes which made everything go together easier and allowed the standoffs to slide in and out of the grommets easier.

Now that it's done, it looks and works great.

Hi I’ve just bought the same protector. I have a 2022 1250gs with the factory fitted spot lights. Are you saying I do not have the bolt hole for the fixings due to the lights being there ?
