Pre-WGU | Failed the ITIL exam.

No excuses. I didn't do what I needed to properly prepare for the exam. The main reason I failed is because despite telling myself I was going to study, I just wasn't motivated or disciplined enough to actually do it. I kept starting and immediately stopping because it was boring and I wasn't enjoying it. I still have time to fix my mistake a take it again this weekend so I'm going to study this time.

I'm in WGU and am working on studying for ITIL 4. I have taken the test twice and failed twice. I have my third exam tomorrow. I think the questions on the test are very poorly worded and confusing, and I think their software is very buggy. I can really relate with most of the feelings that you had on studying the content for the class. It is extremely boring and dry content. I managed to force myself to study for it but still seem to be falling short on the exams. I found this video while looking into others experiences with this certification. I wish you the best of luck at WGU, it really is a great college. This is just a really really annoying class.

Thanks for sharing. I found ITIL 4 Foundation easy but yes it got dry towards the end. I think I enjoy most of it because in the IT role I work in now, we use a service management suite. So a lot of what I learned just connected dots with what system we already use and what my role as a whole is in the organization.

I’m here today, I just failed my ITIL online exam . I missed by one question … I’m trying not to beat myself up . My first time taking it and an online proctored exam, I got 25 right out of 40.. I actually studied, I’m not trying to give excuses, I wasn’t feeling well the past couple days and I actually thought about rescheduling this but I went ahead and took it .. I studied off of cyber vista pre quiz’s and got 90’s… I studied for over a month and I stopped a couple weeks ago during holidays, I should’ve kept studying but I didn’t, and studied yesterday and then took the exam today … I can’t believe I failed, I’m going to smash it next time I take it, now that I know what proctored exams look like in general and I’ve acclimated to the test

Its a weird exam, I'm afraid to do it again so bad after failing it by 1 question as well in 2019 lol yes that far back .. I decided to do it over before this year ends and purchase the mock exams and the exam and the retake ... so good luck this weekend!!

I passed ITIL 4 on the first attempt, but I agree that it was brutally boring and annoying. I almost entirely checked out. I didn’t read past the second chapter of the book. Instead I found some youtube videos and the course cohorts plus a quizlet stack to study it. I made it a game so I could focus on it. Otherwise, man it’s so boring.

Bro how you feel about ITIL is how I feel about Cryptography. This current version of the class (v5) does NOT use EC Council Certified Encryption Specialist. So you have to use the course material which is heavily based on a book and there’s no exam outline so it’s hard to separate what’s needed to know from the fluff. It’s slowing me down a lot and I’m recommending you avoid this class. Take ECES from EC Council for like $250 and knock out this class and the rest will be a breeze.
