Hello. I am new to this approach and i want to ask, when a market is out of balance?

A question on the Paul Tutor Jones "entry at yesterday's closing price " - would love to hear more on that sometimes it bounces off of yesterday's closing price (YCP), sometimes it blows right thru YCP and is never seen again and then sometimes it blows thru it, re-traces and continues - how do we know when to be long @ YCP or short @ YCP - US30 for the entire Asia + London session coiled around YCP & Previous Day's Low until the NY Open then blew off short for over -$125 - oddly enough I'm noticing also that YCP was exactly 50% of the Asia + London range... I'm struggling with direction
