I saw Logan's Run the first day it came out and it is still my favorite movie after all these years.

This actually set the precedent for sci-fi blockbusters
Inspired other movies like Michael Bay's The Island
The cheese factor is there no doubt but the movie has impressive sets, flashy costumes, and trippy visuals
Here this movie gets across the idea of a perfect future while forcing people to confront the moral corruption of societies built upon the dead and increasingly reliant on insidious technology
It even won an Oscar for best special effects
The movie's themes of government mistrust, utopia, dystopia, hedonism, population control, mandatory euthanasia, cosmetic surgery and free loves are more prevalent than ever now
A marvel comics series followed after including a short lived tv series
The last half hour drags but it's a nice planet of the apes like approach
