Koolulam | I Lived - OneRepublic | South Africa | Oct. 14th, 2018

On October 14th, 2018, Koolulam partnered with King David Schools, Johannesburg, South Africa, and gathered 3,500 South Africans to celebrate the 70th anniversary of King David Schools and the establishment of the State of Israel. Within 45 minutes, they learned a new arrangement of OneRepublic's "I Lived". Thank you to Granville Michaels who joined us as a solo singer.

Koolulam is a social-musical initiative, meant to bring together people from any and all walks of life. Our Idea is to simply stop everything for a few hours and just sing - together.

I'm diagnosed with a very deadly brain cancer. I have LIVED MY LIFE!! A few months before I was diagnosed and had no idea it was coming, I said, "You know, I just HAVE to sing with this group! I'll fly to Israel for the next one in English!" Well, literally days later, Koolulam sent an e-mail saying they were about to have events in the US in just a couple of weeks! So I flew to San Francisco for the day and flew home at night. This is how "I LIVED!" No regrets at all, and no concerns about dying young. I have lived an amazing entire life by following the advice that this song gives!
