Ok but what if someone was an ex felon and got their charges completely expunged. How does that work for joining law enforcement? Is that instantly disqualify you ??

They most likely would get more potential candidates if they raised the age limit. Older isn't always better, but in most cases you'll have more mature, level headed w/ life experience people.
