I don't have a high, or even favorable opinion of Marxism.

Marx's philosophy is popular today, but usually in some highly qualified and abrogated form which doesn't stick too closely to some of his economic theories (e.g. the core of his philosophy the 'labour theory of value', which is flatly wrong and which Marx himself implicitly recognized but could never admit) or historical predictions (the idea that a Socialist revolution is the inevitable result of Capitalist exploitation, which contradicts Marx's obsession with stoking revolution since it should, according to him, occur quite on its own). The British historian Paul Johnson produced a well-written and erudite chapter on Marx in his book _Intellectuals_ which is a great introduction.

I'm not sure if unrealistic caricaturish depictions like this should be made. It's certainly funny. But there's always a danger in demonization and idolization. It distorts history in either case.
