For those who can't see the green line (because they are using a newer version): before inserting the effect "Stitch sub-paths" try to insert the "Interpolate sub-path" and to set the step number to 2.

New on Inkscape, Nick...
This was my first try and I made it really good under your guide.
I think you are very generous by sharing your knowledge.
Thanks a lot, master!

You have really been a blessing with the tutorials. I always notice that it's always those 1 or 2 people who dislike the videos. I guess that no matter how wonderful your videos are, it's always someone you can never please. Thanks and keep up the excellent work Nick!!!

To complete the effect, select all the paths, and add a linear or radial gradient to fade out the ends. That's how you get the smooth fade-in/fade out of the original graphic.

This is the best tutorials out there, thank you for the effort, I watched all the ads, so you can get paid for this, as it was really useful and done clearly.

Hello Nick...Thank you for sharing your knowledge and skills on this platform. I'm blown away by creators like yourself who teach valuable skills for free.
I'm commenting on this video in particular because I have the latest version of Inkscape, 1.0 I think, and some of the features used in this video did not function
for me as described or were simply not available as far as I could tell, the green line for example. I could not get the object on my screen to warp or behave
as demonstrated even when I manipulated the nodes. I'm not yet familiar enough with the software to work out a solution, so after several attempts I gave up and deleted everything.
I know you probably can't update videos this old and I don't expect a reply to my issues, since I don't see a reply to other recent comments.
But maybe you will read this and consider making a new video demonstrating the warp effect in say Gimp, or Affinity Designer, if that's possible.
Either way, thank you. I really appreciate your videos.

This is cool... except I have Inkscape .92, I don’t get a green line, and there’s no midpoint node. 😞 Would you be willing to update this, please? 🥰

A tip: When I tried to follow this, my lines were thick, not thin like those shown. The secret if someone else has the problem is when you click on the bezier pen, a new toolbar appears above the select button (starts with the word Mode). Make the drop down for shape none. Mine was set on ellipse.

Great videos on this channel. I never tried this feature. Inkscape is fantastic. Possibly the best Linux art app. A lot of people are raving about Affinity Designer. It's cool for sure. More polished in some ways but I think Inkscape is better. Illustrator is still the monopoly but I don't think you necessarily need it.

@Logos By Nick can you please suggest any alternative for this affect? As you might have known that in newer version green line does not appear. Thanks

Hi, I'm using Inkscape version 0.92.4, I notice that the green line is no longer there. I assume that it's an additional effect that I need to put in called bend path? So I did as you said with the addition of the bend path but the shape comes out different. Furthermore, there is a comment here regarding adding linear or radial gradient to fade out the ends. Can you explain that as I am a complete beginner to inkscape

Amazing Mr. Saporito. I would like to know why you are using inkscape 0.48 in place of the most recent 0.91. Thank you
