Gnarly Tangle Pattern Lesson # 246

Gnarly tangle pattern is by Barbara Finwall. I did a video on this tangle a few years ago but I thought it deserved a second look. This is an easy tangle to draw, one beginner will enjoy. I used colored pencil to do the shading, on a brown paper.

I love Gnarly! I believe it`s a surfing term so Barbara Finwall would surely know it. I like to use Gnarly for drama to balance off something equally dramatic on the opposite side of a design. Thank you for the added ideas and inspiration!

Since this is ocean related and your narrative reminds me of (older Rose) as she narrates the beginning of Titanic, you should have the Titanic music playing in the background. Think of all the inspiration this will generate as we create our own "Gnarly Heart of the Ocean"! Thank you for a great tutorial
