Dynamic Polyhedron

This is a demo of my web app for creating a variety of polyhedrons with 5-fold symmetry by simply moving slider controls. Each of up to 3 different face shapes have controls for color and transparency. You can also turn polygons on or off to see the underlying spherical geometry that is projected onto planes to produce the polygon shapes. The 3 and 5-fold axes can be truncated to add triangles and pentagons. The shape is controlled by moving the control point using the latitude and longitude sliders anywhere on the sphere. Wow. At this point, I'm not really sure what to do with this, other than throw some time into it. It's a bit overwhelming, but boy is it beautiful. Seeing the morphing relationships awy from some of the more common polyhedra really makes it seem as though the well-known/named ones are simply arbitrary. There's an infinite number that remain unconsidered. Geometry is so much more wildly complex than the human mind can ever hope to conceptualize. Blue star pretty.
