Hi Lynn, you and I share the same story. I met the love of my life in July 2017. He started having symptoms in November of 18 and was finally diagnosed in Dec. 2017. I felt the same way you did. I would never leave his side. We married on Sept. 1 2018. It is a scary and sad journey you and I are on. I just wanted you to know you are not alone.

I am a respiratory therapist and work in home care. Unquestionably, both those with ALS and his/her family are amazing souls. There are no words to describe the dedication and love that these families have for each other.

Hi Lynn,
I completely understand and feel for you, because the neurologist had diagnosed my husband with ALS on 12/30/19. He's currently losing some muscles. I'll be my husband's care giver and wife. Lynn, you have done an outstanding job, taking care of your hubby. This is our true testament of the wedding vows, "in sickness and in health..." We just have to take one day at a time, because we really don't know what tomorrow will bring.
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is mystery, and today is a gift. So enjoy this gift today.

My mother was diagnosed October 2023 and just went home September 17, 2024 I was with her the whole time during her battle. I’ve learned much of this awful disease and what it brings. You’re all warriors, even the caregivers.

My mom was diagnosed with ALS Feb 2024 at 69 she feeds from feeding tube and now can’t communicate. She was a very active, loving woman . She also liked to wear make up and jewelry. It’s been hard to watch her die and not be able to do anything about it . The pain I have is inmense, family members are also affected by ALS . Her mind and soul is in there, she’s just a prisoner in her own body .
I commend Lynda by staying strong and being there for her husband. Much love to all affected by this disease
