DBMS: meta data & data dictionary

METADATA- The data which describes the source data is called as metadata.Data about data.By metadata end users takes help to understand the source data.Metadata is stored in data dictionary.
Data Dictionary- Database of metadata. It contains the name, information and use of data. In other words it stores the schema of relations of a RDBMS.
