Vibro Replacement (Stone Columns)

Vibro replacement is Keller’s method of constructing densely compacted stone columns through fill material and weak soils, to improve their load bearing and settlement characteristics. The solution provides an economic and technically sound solution for treating a wide range of soils. This has been proven since Johann Keller invented and patented the first depth vibrator in the 1930’s with thousands of projects on six continents founded on this system.

A big advantage with vibro stone columns is its free draining properties that make the ground non-liquefiable under a seismic event. With only natural stones added to construct stone columns, makes this a sustainable product with much lower carbon footprint than other solutions where cement and steel are used.
