The scene in Gordy (1995) where wealthy boy Hanky Royce (Michael Roescher) nearly drowns in a pool as Jinnie Sue McAllister (Kristy Young) runs for help and the titular pig swims to his rescue.

Seeing it on TV must have been very embarrassing for him, but no such thing as bad publicity, and people were relieved the pig did rescue him. I do appreciate how even though he looked a little down when watching the newscast, he was very happy to have Gordy around after that.

When I was really little, I totally thought that the girl who played Jennie Sue looked a lot like Laura Bell Bundy. So it made me think that the character was Sarah Whittle. Come to think of it, Jumanji was filmed quite a few months after Gordy was filmed

Me and my friends had a boy in the June baby’s class fall into the pool and he was drowning.
We went and got help. My dog Rose pushed an inflatable pool toy swam to the little boy and saved his life.
I had 6 of my dogs with me that day. Rose Chi-Chi Chrysanthemum Daisy Buttercup & Narcissus.

Anytime I see drowning scenes in my favorite movies and TV shows, I would raise my arms and demonstrate the actual drowning. (Hands above the surface, head so low underwater that nobody can see them, not enough air to call for help.)

I loved this movie. A lot of it was very well written and the acting was, for the most part, really good. Some of it was kinda cheesy but what do you expect from a family movie? 😊
