I remember watching the Matrix with my dad as a kid. I didn't really understand it too much, and I had the same thought. Why would I care if it was real or not if what I experienced felt real the entire time?
As I got older, I realized the gravity of finding out everything I had ever seen, done, or felt wasn't real. It's like the first time you look at your parents and realize they're just ordinary people, just like you.
Nobody has a map, and deep down I know I would prefer that life doesn't have a map, because as scary and uncertain life is, it wouldn't be as meaningful.

He’s saying awesome because she’s basically bringing up a main question in the movie which is explored.
