Jeez thats a great job ....looks brand new. I owned a 1980 YZ 80. RIPPED it all over Monmouth county. I knew trails to everywhere and anywhere I wanted to go. Great times. Love this bike.

I restored a '79 Yamaha YZ 80 (steel gas tank) in 1988. Rode it all over. Knew trails to get to a track from my apartment. Lot of fun. Unpredictable power band, but once it kicked in, you'd better hang on!

Wanted to let you know I enjoyed watching your videos on the YZ 80. I too have an early 1980 YZ 80 project with a VIN ending in 101. I have been so scratching my head on why some parts numbers do not make sense. If you have more information on the early model bikes like the gas tank you mentioned I would appreciate it. Thanks again!
