By season 8 both of them are dead and there's a huge civil war between the first guy's 9 year old son, supported by his mother and uncle (who's secretly his real father), their 3rd brother who comes back from exile with a mercenary army, a pretender that has gained popular support in his region due to being the grandson of the king their father overthrew, a powerful Duke from the frontier regions, that seeks independence for his people and some barbarian warlord who claims the second guy married and had a child with his daughter.

Fantastic. You know their bond as siblings has grown and shattered with how they communicate with each other. The polite indifference to each other in the first season shows how little they care for each other. In season 8 the Fuck You comes straight from the heart. You gotta really love someone to hate them like they do each other.
