U.S. President Donald Trump has reduced the size of two national monuments in Utah, despite the objections of Native American and other groups who want the land to remain under the federal government protection. In a speech Monday in Salt Lake City, Utah, Trump announced he is returning more than 80 percent of Bears Ears land and close to 50 percent of Grand Stairs-Escalante to the state control. VOA's Zlatica Hoke reports.

It's like up in Alaska where the Indians use traditional gas powered high speed boats and high power rifles to hunt whales as tradition or when I was up in northern California and at the gas station was a so called traditional pickup full of Salmon, they are about to build a traditional gambling casino near here for a tribe that does not speak the traditional language, I knew someone from that tribe, the last time I seen him he was high and could not catch his breath because he was on the traditional drug Ecstasy, he might be dead now, I have not seen him for years.
