Disney and Pixar’s “Turning Red” introduces Mei Lee (voice of Rosalie Chiang), a confident, dorky 13-year-old torn between staying her mother’s dutiful daughter and the chaos of adolescence. Her protective, if not slightly overbearing mother, Ming (voice of Sandra Oh), is never far from her daughter—an unfortunate reality for the teenager. And as if changes to her interests, relationships and body weren’t enough, whenever she gets too excited (which is practically ALWAYS), she “poofs” into a giant red panda! Directed by Academy Award® winner Domee Shi (Pixar short “Bao”) and produced by Lindsey Collins, Turning Red releases on March 11, 2022.

people really judge this movie before it came out, It’s an absolute masterpiece Mei’s character is such a good representation of early teens and the way it tackles actual real life problems and trauma is truly amazing I love this movie soooo much

PLEASE LET US HEAR THE THREE SONGS during the movie! I am definitely a 4 Town fan too because their character designs are amazing! I can see why Mei is in love with them, and so are her friends! 🤣

I can't out my finger on it, but there's something about the 4-Town songs that sound JUST different enough from the music it's trying to emulate to not sound overly-literal. The way Finneas broke down the key features of Y2K-era boy band music and built the songs around them tells me that they really wanted to capture the feeling of that music more than just having it be an aesthetic set piece.

These two are REALLY good songwriters!

If Pixar made some of its movies' scenes a musical, there ought to be a song CD album for them all. Meilin Lee, Miriam, Priya and Abby are like the world's happiest sisterly bond! They were lucky to learn about 4 Town which could've been called 5 Town because it's a five-member band because it blessed their joy, hearts and souls.

Proud of Pixar for maneuvering over to musical mode for some of its movies, although Walt Disney Animation Studios, the oldest and very first movie and animation studio made it there first.
