About:
Jason and Lorraine. In 2016 we sold most of our belongings and left the city in southern California to start a small homestead in the mountains of North Carolina. We left the city in search for a more minimal and intentional life. We became passionate about growing our own food and knowing what exactly is in our food after I (Jason) became diagnosed with cancer. Now 8 years in remission we as a family are on a journey to live our passions.
We document our life on YouTube videos to inspire others to get out of their comfort zone and not be afraid of change. We started our own online general store where we have available the things we make and use in real life. Thank you for following us on this incredible life changing journey!

i was born in Texas, when i was 4 months old my dad was finished with the US Navy and my parents returned to the Bat Area in CA. I have always said I could never live anyplace landlocked. I have to see the ocean from time to time, its part of my DNA. lol So i've live in CA since I was 4 months old and decided to retire up in Oregon central coast area. I think we made a great choice, there is so much to see and do, surrounded by such beautiful nature. I know it was a perfect choice for us. The cost of living is less too. Life is funny where it leads us.

I love watching y'all. I'm not able to garden anymore because of my back but I love watching others doing it. I watch Justin n Rebecca, Art n Bri and y'all. It's an everyday thing for me lol. I'm also watching how to grow strawberries in clothes hampers and stacking cubes!

We used treated plates, sprayed a cedartone stain on wood as a preservative, wired in a fan with temperature thermostat, plus plumbed in waterlines. We also installed all exterior with the clear sheeting, as well as hurricane tie downs into cement footings and hurricane straps along rafters. We installed a metal screened storm door in front to allow for cross ventilation.
