I will share one tip...I don’t watch any shopping networks on tv. They always show me all the things I never knew I needed!

I cut the same things, thank goodness! I was a woman of excess, for sure. It almost makes me cry to think of all the crap I had to have! No more decorating for every single holiday known to man, either...thank you Home Goods for sucking me in! Now I want my home to look like I’m moving out! Lol ! Great tips!

I buy Castile soap and use it to make shampoo, hand soap, dish soap, and body wash. I just say NO to all the toxic crap in candles and plug ins. That being said I do miss the pumpkin scents!!!!

I was very obsessed with make up about 10 years ago when I was watching all of those make up videos on YouTube. It really has an influence on people when they are watching all these women with tons and tons and even full rooms full of make up. Now, I wear some powder, blush, lipstick, and big sunglasses. 😁

My family decided years ago to stop taking part in the mass consumption & propaganda schemes of retail marketing.
We agreed that if we give a gift that it be something that we make or create for that person. Home made baked goods, craft, sewing, or knitted items. Something built of wood, glass or ceramic. We no longer just dash out and buy made in China stuff out of obligation. We learned to use things we already have to make creative, useful items. These things have special memories. My Grandmother crocheted beautiful snowflakes for my Christmas tree each year for several years. Each one a different design. She pass away in 2008 and they are precious to me. Every Christmas I place them on my tree and remember the love that went into creating them. No discount code, percentage off or clearance price can replicate that memory. God bless our Republic.

I take homemade overnight nights to work. I add berries right before I leave with some nuts. So good and cheap.

I enjoy Amazon Prime too & really like the movies & books especially being home more. I definitely use the 'Save for Later' to wait for lower prices or sometimes to see if the want/need passes & I don't purchase at all. It keeps me more mindful of what I chose to buy.

I am really happy, because I don’t spend money on those stores anymore!! Body works, please, that store is full of fragrances, that is TOXIC!! If you STOP buying fragrances you will START saving your money on doctor’s visits and on medicine for sure. If you like your house smelling good use the actual thing, essential oils, great for you and family.

Love garage/yard sales. When my son was young, I took with me. People gave him free stuff all the time. As he got older, if he wanted something he had to buy it at the yard sales, as he hit 8 and 9 and wanted big things he had to bargain at the yard sales and shop for price/sales. He was never allowed to pay full price. It’s an important life skill. He learned to ask/bargain for things he wanted. At twelve he wanted a gaming computer. It was way out of my budget at 4K. I chipped in 1k, he used 500 from his savings account and bought parts over the internet and with a friend built his own gaming computer. It built a confidence and a sense of teamwork.

Great points! I used to also do the things you mentioned. I generally watch videos 10 minutes or less. I’m frugal and a minimalist with my time.

My grandmother taught me that bar soap should be unwrapped when I get home from the store. She taught me to stash the bars in clothes drawers, clothes closets and linen closets. This first gave a fresh scent to your clothes while it dried out to a harder bar. Secondly the dried out hard soap would last longer.when used for bathing. I've done this since jr. high but now that I'm almost 60, the trick is not forgetting to take the soap to the washroom with me.

Car washes are more important in the winter months, to remove the road salt. It's not just on the surface layer of your car, its crammed into the crooks and crannies of the under carriage, which is all metal. So yes, there could be damage going on to your undercarriage, but it's your call.

I really appreciate this video. I am watching a number of YouTubers who are just beginning this journey, and who are getting rid of all of their body sprays/body washes/makeup/etc. It's so encouraging to see someone on the other side. Your happiness radiates so strongly. Your li'l guy is so adorable! Beautiful video.
