How to Apply for Kindergeld || German Life

Child benefit is one of the most important benefits for families in Germany. It reaches the families directly and thus contributes to their financial relief.
Child benefit was increased to 250 euros per child per month on January 1 , 2023 . If you have already received or applied for child benefit, you do not have to worry about anything. The amounts will be automatically adjusted and the new amount will be paid out from January 2023.

Only one person receives child benefit, usually one parent. If there are several children, the individual amounts are paid out as one sum
it may take up to 12 weeks for the processing of this kindergeld application
