So glad you both wore safety glasses to replace that sandpaper.

Here’s my situation with this machine...
My shop got the 1066 a few months ago, we really don’t use all that much. Today, I had to run about 35 10” x 16’ poplar boards thru it, and I had to rewind the paper on the first drum at least 8 times. The drum gets so hot that the tape lets go, we use the reinforced 1” tape like in the video. Also, the adjustment really is terrible... all my 35 boards went then a grizzly planer first, but had to make small adjustments on the sander from board to board and even on the same board... also, if things are just a bit too tight the sander will sound off with an ear piercing harmonic wail, again intermittently on different AND same boards. The paper on the 2nd drum never even touches the material and never has had to be replaced, also why is the 1st drum bare metal and the 2 nd drum is wrapped in felt?
This sander is garbage, not meant for shop use all day, I think it’s designed for garages where guys use it once in a while...
Granted, we pulled the machine out the box, plugged it in, and started using it, nothing in any of the info that came with it said the machine needs final adjustment before use when new...
