This is right way to understand polity.

Read NCERT and start from basic..Learn how to relate NCERT to Previously asked questions or how to draw output from ncert related to exam. This is where you need guidance and help.
Once you are able to analyze on your own it's game. after this You only need Laxmikant for referal purpose, Where you are not able to draw output for a particular question refer the book and proceed.
There are a lot of ways, This one suits me.
I gave 68th BPSC as a Demo exam and scored 78.
All question of modern history and polity are correct.
There are many techniques, I am sharing mine ☺️

Yes there is alternate ways to cover Indian polity, like any other subject. However M Laxmikant is comparatively easier. Personal experience

Dd Basu if you have done your grad and post grad in pol science but for non pol science background Laxmikant is the best but after reading basic ncerts of class 11.
