A renaissance pocket like no other. Digitized embroidery from period sources is my favorite way to make historical embroidery. #renaissancepocket #dsathreads #machineembroidery

Today I'm showing you the Sacoccia or pocket I made for the IRCC 10 Realm of Venus competition. I'm so excited to make a pocket that actually fits my cell phone and various things, and I'm excited to use this at events. Someday. Someday. Pockets were an essential part of historical fashion, even in 16th century Italian Renaissance. I may or may not have photoshopped myself into a Venetian canal so you didn't need to see my bathroom, lol! #ircc10 #ithaspockets #theprojectthatneverends

This embroidery pattern is now up in my shop if you want to make one too:

It is way cooler to actually see and hear you talk about this coming together than to just graze through pics on the Facebook group. It looks so luscious.

And yes, I am main-lining your entire channel in one night. Apparently it took searching for Renaissance shoe videos to find it. No regrets.

Madeira metal, I will try. Bad luck in past with metal thread. Sigh
