Morning Matt from Deer 🦌 Camp in the UP !!!
I make the HOT - SPOT, now that the supply chain issue has hit home with tying supplies, by soaking white thread in FRANK’S Hot Sauce !!!!
Gotta get creative for these Flies
Enjoyed Your Pattern 🤩👍🏻⭐️

Appreciate explaining how you decide on how you decide to tie a fly. I like this one. I tie many that I will never use, but just enjoy different styles, I tie lots of large streamers and topwaters for big largemouth, but also tie smaller for stocked Trout in Winter, White bass, Crappie, perch etc..I really enjoy scuds though, just like the way they look. Thanks for all your videos Matt. Happy Veterans Day! God bless America! 🇺🇸❤️👍

A pretty neat fly. A couple of new steps I’ve not seen before. The scud dub, the body stretch and the mono rib. Pretty cool steps. I will for sure being trying this one at some point. Matt thank you for a little bit different and entertaining video my friend. Very cool fly.

Good one Matt, I remember that issue, I like the Owlet in that section too. I've never used sow scud dubbing but when you mentioned habitat I thought of using that dubbing on a Usual. I think the creek I fished was a limestone creek - in fact the name of it is Limestone - lots of "salad greens" on the bottom, and when cleaning the "greens" off my nymph it was loaded with scuds. Later on I fished a Usual and pulled it under to avoid some hanging branches and a nice rainbow shot out from the bank and hit the fly. The gray/tan ss hare fur was similar in color to the scud. I'll have to experiment with that. Thanks Matt. Happy Veterans Day, many thanks for your service. :o)

You make it look easy Matt. Thanks for taking the time for the instruction. It should be a cold winter so what better way to pass the time than by a warm fly tying bench. Happy Thanksgiving and may God Bless.
