How to trade Pokemon between Dolphin and VBA

Couldn't find a tutorial so I made one.
This should also work with most gba rom hacks as long as the Pokemon and its moves existed in the 3rd generation games.
Why would I play the game on my old GameCube when I can play it in HD on my PC?

So, I need to add a bit of stuff here
Problem : My pokemon intro would always load
How I fixed it: \
1. Check the option "Link at boot" under the Link tab
2. Save in pokecenter, on first floor, where you heal, and store pokemons
3. Open VBA-m and click pause right away
4. Open your game, and load the battery file (save data)
5. Unpause VBA-m and it should work!

I wonder if this will work with Sonic Adventure and Sonic advance!

Edit: This worked easier with mGBA. Plus I can convert saves there. Just doesn't work with the sonic combo GBA games though.

thanks so much man 'm trying to 100% my pokedex on all pokemon gen 3 games (cause they're my favourite), so this helps a lot. But do you know whether or not if there's a Colosseum ROM with the special Jirachi Pre order?

Btw, if this doesn't work for you, you may need to configure a GBA bios file in VBA. It wouldn't work for me until I did that.

This is infuriating. I got it to work once
It suddenly worked for me and then I realised I had shadow pokes in my squad so I cancelled the trade and got 6 that I was never interested in using.
Then it wouldn't work at all. I didn't even change anything.
Almost like I was being honeydicked.
Using mGBA so it's hard to tell if this tutorial actually helps. Well, you did set me off in the right direction and I did get it to work somewhat.

Either I'm confused with the order (if it matters) or maybe the versions of Dolphin and VBA (I don't know). I've been trying for hours now and nothing seems to work. My dolphin when putting GBA controller, I lose connectivity with my other controller and my VBA, no matter times I reset or close and restart, it doesn't connect with Dolphin. What do I do?

Am I doing something wrong?

I was able to connect but as soon as i try to move around and select a Pokemon to trade both vba and Dolphin freeze

Hi @loloopy ! I wanted to know if it was possible to do an update, from the newest version of Dolphin, it seems the GBA option under "Gamecube Controller" is split as either GBA (Integrated) or GBA (tcp). Guys i am trying it now and its not working when i load my sapphire and click import it says a warning that i will permanently lose all files and even after doing it it does not work. Have finished coliseum but not sapphire yet.
