Creating calculated buckets in Cognos

Want to bucket you data in the fastest and easiest way in Cognos. Look at my video that shows the strength by pure MDX/DQM modeling in Cognos 10.2.2. This method is by far the fastest way when you want to bucket you facts without an ETL to prepare the bucketing. This technic work with the data in memory. Traditionally this has been done by a case expression in the FM model, so when you ask for 20 million record the case expression must be executed 20 million times as well. That takes time…. I have tested this technique on big data sets and it’s very fast :-)
