Actually he is correct.... The more dye in the urethane the more deceiving the durometer reading.... Black wheels always have bad wear characteristics.... Color does affect the This has been known for 35 years in skateboarding....

As a urethane pouring person.. it does have an affect depending on amount added but clear is consistant.

Fuckin’ watched this kid grew up in my neck of the woods in south Florida. So proud of him. He’s always been a hardworking/hard hitting in the industry. Cheers, Foy 🥂

I have this exact same set up and I agree those clear bushings make a big difference.

Every set of thunder trucks I’ve had I have to change the bushing to bones or something else. the stock bushing blow out in the first week every time. Now I just skate Indy’s and the stock bushing are great.

The transparent durometer had me dying. Foy is the fucking man. One of the heaviest dudes on a board right now. Fucker chomps on rails and within the last year or so has developed a sick heelflip.

The clear bushing thing sounds superstitious except
1.) He gives allowance for a difference of opinion from those who like tighter trucks.
2.) There are days of video evidence of just HOW PERFECT this man has a front crook dialed in. I swear he has nerve endings in his skateboard.
If he told me my wheel nut made it harder to feeble grind I'd believe him.

Ive tried every industry truck and i ended up with mini logos because i LOVE how low they are. Only truck that comes close is venture LO but they dont make them past 8.0 axle 😢

He knows what he likes! When you're as DOPE as Foy is, you know exactly what you want 🛹👍!

Indy’s 🖤 never had a problem with their stock bushings no matter if they were clear black or orange. Never replaced them, never had an issue, never stiff.

i hear they ship with 90duro bushings stock, no matter the color. thunder aftermarket bushings are color coded tho so blue is 95(harder)... something to keep in mind

He’s not lying about the clear bushings. The dye really does mess with the material and how it turns and molds to you.

Thanks for sharing.
Does anyone know why pros don’t use riser pads? I haven’t been involved in the skate scene in a long time, I live in southern Illinois now and I work at a power plant so I can’t really skate anymore but I love watching skateboarding, I’ll always be a skater in heart and soul.

Thanks Jamie for continuing the fun of skating. Seems like everyone wants to be a robot like nijah nowadays acting like everything should look perfect and clean. Thrashing lives on if you sir 👍

Having tried a lot of bushings in my 25 years skating, and my top 3 all being solid colour bushings, I feel like Jamie just hasn't tried a premium bushing like a bones, and that's why he believes this old wives tale.
