You are correct in theory but in practice you are a bit off. I work for a major insurance company and our research is extremely thorough. In my particular company, if you were to look up our valuations vs. Kelley Blue Book/NADA, you'd find our valuations are more accurate than their valuations because we take into account local market value, condition, mileage, comparable vehicles within 60 miles, etc. Don't try to fool people into thinking insurance companies are out to lowball people in order to gain a buck - we pay what we owe - that is what we are in business for. In my experience, our valuations are higher than KBB/NADA. But that's just food for thought. You're the one charging retainer fees and ridiculous hourly fees.
