the one feature that I love to have on a cruise ship is a FULL promenade deck that completely circles the ship. It is the best place for sea watching and is great for walking around the ship. I have never seen a need to scream at a cruise employee, although our waiter on Celebrity Solstice almost pushed the table to a mutiny on the last cruise.

I had an excursion problem on the NCL Epic where I paid for my excursion but never got my ticket which meant I didn’t know the specific meeting instructions. I made the effort to go where I thought they’d meet, but I missed the excursion. The excursions team member talked down to me like it was all my fault and that there was no way they made the mistake because they’ll deliver tickets in the middle of the night if purchased late. I ended crying after walking away from him. Once back on the ship, I decided to play a game in the atrium, and the excursions guy found me at the atrium bar. I told him I didn’t want to talk to him. He then followed me over to where I was sitting for the game, and I told him again to leave me alone. He wouldn’t, so I had to call out for another crew member to help. That was the one time I had when it could’ve been appropriate for me to yell at a crew member, granted only if I kept it short. He was harassing me after I told him multiple times to leave me alone. His manager agreed that he was wrong and said she would be instructing him to not talk to me again for remainder of the cruise.

No kids in the hot tub. Would like to relax by the pool.

In this day and age the biggest problem is how do they teach the kids when nobody taught the parents?

I absolutely agree. I'm 34 years old. I haven't been on a vacation since i was a teen. If I were on a cruise, I don't wanna cook. I don't want to clean and it better be quiet

Cruise ducks: more plastic that will end up in the garbage and possibly the ocean

We just did a Virgin TA over Halloween. People got creative with the ducks. Some brought octopus, some from Aust. brought koalas, I brought tiny glow in the dark ghosts. It was fun, since we were all adults!

Last week on my cruis, there was an elderly lady in the cabin next to me in passenger jail. The security sat sideways in front of her door. She couldn't leave if she wanted to. I asked my cabin attendant who was eager to tell me what happened. She got in a fight with another passenger. I heard from other passengers that there was another person in passenger jail on another decik. Oh my!! This was on Celebrity...not Carnival...LOL

Morgan, maybe you should give Princess a try. I'm always able to relax on Princess cruises (and there are relatively few kids). I'll be spending most of December on the Enchanted Princess and I'm very much looking forward to the inaugural cruise of the Star Princess out of Barcelona next October.

I’m a retired pediatric nurse. I worked for 30 years with kids and I am so glad I no longer work with kids now. I love kids and spend time with them but unfortunately some kids are not taught how to behave well. The parents act entitled so the kids do too. And if you report misbehaving to a parent many do not believe what you tell them. Or they think their kids are just being kids.

Happy that I can afford the more "luxury" ships, Celebrity and Princess. We don't have to worry about "party at the pool".

I don't wear formal wear anywhere on shore, so no longer have formal wear for cruises. However, I have always dressed just a little nicer on all evenings, not just "formal night". I also don't think that those of us that fly can pack all the extras needed for a true formal night.

We LOVE "Cruise Ducks", we leave them and collect them. As for the kids in the hot tubs that is definitely out of control. We decided to stay on the ship during a port stop so we could actually go to the hot tub on the Lido deck! I HATE getting dressed up on "Formal" night. I get dress nicely, with at least a tie, but NOT completely DRESSED up! Our servers in the MDR have always did an EXCELLENT job! What gets me very upset when parents bring their under age children to the Serenity Deck and get upset when asked to remove the children and then REFUSE to take them out.

Just did our first and last Princess cruise. Almost everyone on board was over 50, but they had a Wonka movie blasting at the pool area for nonexistent kids… We couldn’t use the pool because the volume was so loud and it was just annoying.

I only cruise when school is in session or longer cruises (12+days) to avoid as many of those little monsters that I can. Ducks, I like the ducks. If you don't like them ignore them. Unlike children they don't do anything to disrupt your cruise. Don't even think about yelling at a crew member in front of me. Then there is formal night, that isn't what it use to be. Before cruise ships became floating amusement parks, formal night was something special. Heck I remember when you couldn't even wear jeans anywhere on the ship after 6 on Celebrity. The mainstream cruise lines have gone very casual, to the point the table cloths are missing on some ships, so there isn't really a formal night.

No court needed. If the kids misbehave, the parent gets fined, even if it's something the parents consider okay. It's like people bringing pot or CBD products because they think it's okay, but it's not allowed on the cruise ship, and folks kicked off for that don't get a cruise court to argue their point. I don't think cruise lines will ever do this, but it's an interesting idea to float. Pun not intended.

The timing of this video is impeccable. I’m currently sailing on the Oasis of the Seas. As I type this, there's a male Karen screaming at one of the crew members in the Solarium because his stuff was moved to the towel station. He didn’t understand why he couldn't save his chair in the Solarium while he left to eat breakfast on the other side of the ship. Even after the crew member explained to him that this was a posted rule, this male Karen insisted that his things should not have been touched. It's quite the spectacle. I had to leave the area, seeing a crew member being berated like that was stressing me out.

The hot tubs should never have small children in them. It's not safe for them. There are signs there for a reason, read them.

I must be blind, I have never seen a duck. Perhaps it’s because I have only ever sailed on NCL, maybe it’s not as popular on NCL ships.
Shouting, screaming, or treating staff disrespectful, No No No! Kick them off the ship.
