Funny thing about this is people still won’t give John Mayer his props. He’s a master guitarist and did a beautiful song justice

Still can't believe he performed this song without in ears monitors especially considering the sheer size of the venue

I was 16 when I watched this live. Cried my eyes out the minute I realised what he was playing. My most favourite song of all time, and he did MJ proud.

This is where I realized that John Mayer was more than just a pretty boy pop star, but an excellent guitarist and musician also.

Ultimate respect he showed MJ here. You can't beat the original version so doing an instrumental with nice backing vocals was perfect for the occasion

I like how he doesn't say "thank you" or anything into the mic, he just walks off. That was the move for that moment

Never heard such a moving piece. MJ created a masterpiece. JM injected more passion and soul into it than anyone else ever could have.
Both GOAT’s in their own ways.

John Mayer grew to be one of my most favourite artists about 13 yrs after this, right after MJ.

For him to freehand that first minute… wow… I don’t think it could be better.

This was more emotional than "Gone too Soon" performance. The song that made you feel joyful for so many years will now break your heart evertime you listen it. Playing the core song melody just to make us feel that we are missing him. We can only do so much, cover it with the best singers/instruments but the voice is gone forever. Like an echo, Like an art that is still lying arround somewhere but the artist has moved on. We are going to listen to it many times but It won't ever be the same again. Thank you John ! You unexpectedly broke but also won my heart on that day.

John Mayer poured his heart and soul into this, you can hear it. And Michael was certainly with him on that stage💜
RIP❤

When I was a kid my parents had a cabinet full of records that they never played any more. When I learned how to use the record player, I listened to all of them. Thriller was the one record I kept coming back to, and Human Nature was possibly my favorite song on that whole record.

I remember watching this live after Michael's death and just blown away by John Mayer refusing to sing Michael's lyrics at the last second, and just knocking this song out of the park on nothing but his guitar. A true class tribute

This is one and only condolence to Michael by John. No one can sing like this by guitar.

When Michael Jackson passed away, I was 12 years old and couldn't fully grasp his significance in music and culture. At that time, I was learning to play the guitar, and his departure didn't hold complete meaning for me. However, his funeral became a pivotal moment that reshaped my perspective. I vividly recall John Mayer's rendition of 'Human Nature, ' which deeply moved me and made me realize the beauty of my own pursuit: learning to play the guitar. As I've grown, I've come to better understand Michael Jackson's influence on music and how his legacy endures. That funeral moment, even though I didn't entirely comprehend it at the time, became a catalyst for my love of music and commitment to playing the guitar. It's astonishing how music can impact us even when we don't fully grasp its importance in the moment. My guitar journey since then has become a form of expression and connection, serving as a constant reminder of the lasting power of music to bring people together and transcend cultural and generational barriers

I remember watching this in Vegas when MJ died. I was on vacation. It was crazy to say the least. Everywhere was a memorial, every DJ mixed his stuff, all the stations had this on.
