Every Australian politician who has supported or voted for this bill should have a complaint filed against them accordingly. Let them live by their own standards, while you reach out to their voters to replace them in primaries or whatever Democratic form of consent consent of members of parties is normal in the antipodes

The dangerous part is this trend of laws that use standards of subjective interpretation... from who takes offense, to who is scared, to whatever else you please, this needs to die, soon, or we'll start to fall into a dystopia where presumption of guilt starts to become the norm because of the same reason that laws that factor intent into their calculations are so difficult to enforce...

A very reasonable, considered and fair assessment Neel.

At it's core though this is the same argument/commentary ad infinitum.
"let's stop bad things" ... "who decides which things are bad?" This is a never-ending debate, as it should be. The problem is that the real issues START when the ability to debate ENDS. And that's where this slippery slope is headed.

Also, totally agree that most of the legislation and the work of this office is (objectively) very beneficial to society.
Eg; Don't bully kids into early mental health issues or self-harm. Don't share intimate photos of an ex out of anger. etc etc. Most strongly agree with these controls. It's where we draw the line to limit the ability to censor that is problematic.
