I have the same tricky dilemma, do I shop in Lidl or Aldi this week. It's been Bugging the hell out of me....

I absolutely agree about the different layups can cause different ride feels. However, to test a thing like this, you gotta have the same wheels, tires, bb, and gearing. Essentially everything but the frame itself. I love you Si, but im not sure this is the best, or even enough of a close comparison.

This is great! Now I can permanently blame the bicycle for being slow.

So .. when choosing a bike test a hundred of them and be left so confused that you can't pick one. Got it.

I have been riding my SL6 Sworks for 4 years. Then I bought a second hand SL6 Specialized, so a slightly heavier and slightly different carbon lay up. The difference is night and day. And crazily I prefer the second hand one. Who would have thought!

Do a comparison between the two frames, same size and geometry but different carbon, and same specs, groupset, wheels, tires, and position to isolate just the frames

God dammit, now I will always relate this bike with the simpsons canyonero ad

I want to see the difference between components and how they make a ride feel. If you have the exact same frame and change out the components

Upgradable components I’ve learned I need so far. 1# a different colored bike

For the 3% of people that can afford or justify this purchase, I'm sure they have plenty of free time to sort it out.

Try doing the same with mechanical 105 and ultegra. I think ultegra just feels so much more crisp.
