My last fresh install was F29 (back in 2018 I think) and I've been upgrading it since (using the terminal method). I've yet to face a major issue during the update process, I've found some but they're usually 3rd party apps, not the OS itself. Fedora is an overall excellent all-purpose distro, the team always do a great job.

Terminal way is also useful since other Fedora Spins don't have the Gnome Software (at least Cinnamon Spin doesn't).
Also note that system-upgrade download will only download the packages, and after the reboot will those be installed. Which will take a lot of time.

Totally unrelated, hey Matt, can you do a video explaining how to configure the laptop mouse buttons on Ubuntu (I'm on 22.04). My physical mouse buttons (left and right click) on the laptop are not working at all but I have those underneath the touchpad that work fine. It would be cool to have the physical ones working too, without destroying the touchpad configuration that's on now.

When i do upgrade my system do my files get deleted including apps that i have and all the customizations i did

Hello everyone, i've try upgrade from fedora 35 to 36 using terminal, everything looks fine while executing the command. But then after rebooting, i got "Something went wrong..." error. Anyone can explain why this happen? Thanks

that sucks i got to go from 33 to 34v to 35 to 36 f me see this is why linux still is a bit crappy lol but at least i can install a printer now never could in years past to convoluted terminal stuff drives not working or not amount .but now 2020 it worked so i am a linux guy still hate terminal .hated it in 1990`s still do LOL

Sometimes I wonder if you people cling to the terminal so much, not because it's "easier" or "faster", but because if you could do everything in GUI your videos would be too short.

I mean, How to update to fedora 36? Open software manager, go to updates tab and click download now and restart when asked VS Here's 10 different commands in terminal you could use to update fedora.
