TIMELAPSE - Building Our Dream Cabin in the Woods in 15 MINUTES! (Airbnb)

We are building a Luxury Airbnb Cabin in the Woods on our 10 acres of land. This is 1 year Timelapse of our Airbnb Cabin Build. The goal is to create a Short-Term rental business on our land.

50% of the build were done by contractors and 50% done by us, including family and friends.

In November, 2021. My wife and I bought 10 acres of raw land in Missouri. We are excited to share our journey and figure things out together. We are very new at this and we are learning everything for the first time. We are building a Luxury Airbnb Cabin in the Woods!

Reading the comments, I’d hate to say anything but something positive. Because it looks beautiful.
But having a 25 year background in framing and roofing. As soon as I saw those shingles go on my heart skipped a beat.
As long as you’re in a climate, that gets zero snow, you may be fine. But there’s not enough pitch for shingles. You should’ve went with metal for sure.

One ice dam or heavy rain. God forbid there’s any nails in the slots.
If you ever do another Airbnb, do metal, unless you have a good pitch on the roof. I’ll give it 3 years before you’re fixing leaks on that ceiling and re-doing it completely.

I would be very concerned with both snow and wind loading with the flat roof. Also, the lack of outside vapour barrier wrapping of the external walls and floors may well affect the heating bill bottom line of this place depending on how severe your Winters are ? I would also think this building's shape will cause excessive movement in any high wind situation above 65 Miles Per Hour in gusts ? Can't honestly say I'm diggin' the basic house design shape. I do really like the concrete pillar support platform approach in lieu of a full basement concrete foundation poor. I'm sure going this direction saved you folks thousands in overall construction costs and materials.

I can see that the 'walls' do not weight bear, it's the cross-pieces in the floors that do. Flimsy to my way of thinking. Also see why people refer to 'siding' and not to walls, because basically there aren't any, rather it's a shell to which 'siding' is attached

Doesn’t look that good lmao sorry to burst your bubble, pally but I’ve seen better builds by Pete Nelson on Treehouse masters. Get your money back via airbnb in 5 years and sell it for double your investment… having a monetized YouTube channel helps too, right?
