Idk, I think there's a reason LS engines have never really caught on in E46's. Maybe as the car de-values. But still, an S54 that has all its quirks worked out is the only engine for an E46 M3. Awesome swap though!

If you're going to V8 swap a BMW... use a BMW V8 like the S65. They make the right sound, not the american muscle car sound but the more refined german muscle car sound.

Respect for the LS1 by itself but why would you swap a s54 with a LS1. I can see LS7 but wtf is the reason? Plus that ls1 sounds like garbage compared to a s54 with swapped headers.
