Russia's Far Eastern Federal District covers 41 percent of the country's territory but is home to a mere six percent of its population. I'm sorry to say that these Russian far east land belongs to North Asian nations: Japan, Korea, China, and Mongolia. China was defeated by the UK and France in the Opium War. Russia seized the opportunity and took the entire land, now called Russian far east, away from North Asia. Russia does this many times historically, not just to Asia, but to many European nations: Finland, Norway, Germany, Hungary, Ukraine, etc. The behaviors of Russians are greedy and they will receive karma eventually.
