👌👌 kale is one of our typical winter greens in the Netherlands. We still have some on our garden at the moment. For those wishing their kale would come out a bit softer, it's common over here to not get the kale from the garden until it atleast has frozen once. Unfortunately it hardly ever freezes in winter here anymore, so we put it in the freezer and get it out whenever we need it, but do recommend to freeze for at least 48hrs.
In the Netherlands we tend to eat it as a mashup, potatoes/mashed, with gravy and butter, maybe some milk and seasonings to taste. Cut Kale small, cook it to your desired doneness and mash it in with the potatoes. Top with bacon bits or pancetta and a smoked (Dutch) sausage. (Usually Unox sausage)
But this soup looks amazing as well, will have to introduce it to my family ❤

Oh my goodness. I was down with a cold awhile back and made some soup like this with kale, cut up chicken tenders and eggplant wedges. Now THIS😲?!!! Brace yourselves! I’m going to do this one first sure!!! Oh…..my…..goodness!!! Nice twist to the soup with the potatoes, sausage and heavy cream. Thank you👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

I also sub baby spinach for the kale. It tastes just as delicious. In fact I made this tonight. I used my Italian sausage in this and I made a batch of pasta a fagioli also. Both are so good and comforting especially now that it's soup and chowder westher.
