Chris I read this story in Hindi in my school when I was 9 years old. The story was called 'swarthy daanav' and was duly credited to Oscar Wilde. When you read it today, I heard it with tears in my eyes. Thank you.

I studied this story in my school English class... it was in 90s... I am from India btw.
Now I am playing this to my child as bed time story.
Hearing it now i felt like i missed a lot of details then. But now could really appreciate the beauty of this story.
