Wood turning - Silver birch hollow form.
Показать описание
Hello and welcome to my first video of 2022 and quite possibly my favourite finished piece of all time. A hollow form with feet from a beautiful chunk of spalted silver birch.
Initially mounted to the lathe using a faceplate but I flipped it around on tenons a couple of times during the turn to get the desired orientation.
Shaped, sanded to 400, sealed with shellac and polished with Yorkshire grit.
The feet were shaped using a belt sander then hand sanded and finished with shellac.

My pieces are often for sale on Etsy:
No amount is too small and this money will always go towards the purchase of tools and materials for more turning content.
